Atchison and Hubbard Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida—The Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars were announced on Wednesday afternoon, with a total of 952 women's collegiate golfers recognized.

Wittenberg's Macy Hubbard and Devon Atchison were honored with the prestigious award, as the criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is a 3.50.

Hubbard, a three-time NCAA National Medalist Runner-Up, averaged 75.5 strokes a round in 2016-17, a campaign that saw the Mason, Ohio native earn medalist honors at the NCAC Conference Tournament, and second team All-American honors.

Atchison completed her sophomore campaign for the Tigers with an average round of 86, with a career low 79 in 2016-17.

Wittenberg women's golf finished third in the nation at the NCAA National Championship for the second consecutive season last May. The Tigers fired a 312 as a team on the fourth and final round of the championship, carding a 1,229 as a team in the event.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
