DESTIN, Florida--Wittenberg University golf saved its best for last, firing a score of 309 on Tuesday afternoon to close out the Golfweek Fall Preview totaling 927 strokes to claim 1st place. Among the 18 team tournament field some of the top Division III women's golf programs in the country competed, including defending national champion Rhodes College.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament was played on a par-72, 5,931-yard layout at Baytowne Golf Course in Destin, Florida.

Jane Hopkinson-Wood took home medalist honors for the Tigers after leading wire-to-wire, as the junior carded rounds of 72-70-73=215. Her three-day score placed her as the only player in the field finishing one-under par.

Hubbard and Wood's consistency has been something that the Tigers have grown accustomed to over the years, as Golfweek.com featured the duo in a spotlight article that can be found here.

The Tigers win at the Division III Fall Invite was by an impressive 10-strokes, as the team earned its second consecutive victory, and third overall in the fall of 2016. With the Tigers fall portion of the schedule completed on a high-note, the team now awaits what hopefully is a short winter, before returning to action on March 6-7 at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational.
