SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers put the finishing touches on a dominant fall portion of the 2015-16 season with a second-place performance in the Pat Clouse Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg at historic Springfield Country Club.

Wittenberg was unable to hang on to a six-stroke first-round lead as NAIA powerhouse Indiana Tech stormed back to win by five strokes. However, the Tigers can still take some solace in the fact that they remain unbeaten against NCAA Division III competition so far in the 2015-16 season.

Indiana Tech posted consistent rounds of 304 and 305 for a total of 609, while Wittenberg followed up a blistering round of 298 with a 316 for a total of 614. Both rounds were played in nearly ideal conditions, with abundant sunshine supporting temperatures in the mid-60s.

SUNY-Cortland was a distant third in the final standings, checking in at 669. Wooster at 674 and Denison at 678 rounded out the top five.

Junior Macy Hubbard (Mason, Ohio/Mason) earned medalist honors for the second time in five fall tournaments, as she matched the score posted by Indiana Tech's Wiebke Schlender. Both players finished with a two-round total of 147, although Hubbard carded the round of the tournament with a two-under-par 70 on Saturday. It was Hubbard's first-ever sub-par round and the second such score in Wittenberg program history.

Sophomore Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) also left with some new hardware after placing fourth with a two-round total of 151. She was followed by senior Maggie Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) in sixth place with a 154, freshman Chloe Bradburn (Gahanna, Ohio/Columbus Academy) in 13th with a 165, and senior Allie Lawwill (Springboro, Ohio/Middletown) in 21st with a 169.

Wittenberg also entered two players in the field as individuals, and both also finished in the top half of the 85-player field. Sophomore Brianna Yee (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran) finished 17th with a 168 and freshman Devon Atchison (Pataskala, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) took 32nd with a 176.
