WOOSTER, Ohio - For the third time in less than a month, the Wittenberg Tigers were the class of the field as they cruised to a 39-stroke victory at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational, hosted by the College of Wooster.

Wittenberg carded rounds of 312 and 316 to finish with a two-day total of 628, the third-best score in program history. Denison was the runner-up in the event, played at historic Wooster Country Club, with a score of 667, followed by the host Scots at 668, Mount Union at 693, Ohio Wesleyan at 719 and Capital at 760.

The Tigers were dominant, putting all five starting players in the top 10 individually. In addition, three players were entered as individuals in the 47-player field, and two of them placed in the top 20.

A pair of Tigers shared first place, as senior Nicole Waers (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Perry) and freshman Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) each finished with a two-day total of 153, six strokes better than anyone else in the field. Waers was awarded the trophy as medalist by virtue of tiebreaker criteria, as she carded a 77 on Day 2, compared to Hopkinson-Wood's 78.

Senior Rachel Steiner (Hamilton, Ohio/Lakota West) finished fifth with a 161, and junior Maggie Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) and sophomore Macy Hubbard (Mason, Ohio/Mason) tied for seventh with 163s. In addition, freshman Brianna Yee (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran) finished 16th with a 172, freshman Rachel Marks (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) placed 17th with a 174, and freshman Millie Leonhard (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) took 40th with a 201.
