Tigers Finish Second At TaylorMade adidas Intercollegiate

DATAW ISLAND, SC - The Wittenberg Tigers kicked off the second half of the 2013-14 season with a solid performance at the TaylorMade adidas Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan, finishing second overall and first among NCAA Division III programs in the field.

Ranked 20th in the nation after a strong fall season, Wittenberg posted a two-round score of 671 to finish 18 strokes behind the University of Cumberlands. Hardin-Simmons finished third with a score of 693.

A pair of Tigers led the charge, finishing with matching totals of 162 to tie for third place. Junior Nicole Waers (Canton, Ohio/Perry) carded rounds of 78 and 84 on the par-72, 5,820-yard Morgan River Course at Dataw Island Club, while freshman Macy Hubbard (Mason, Ohio/Mason) posted scores of 82 and 80.

Sophomore Maggie Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) finished 13th with a two-day total of 174, junior Carolyn Wong (Naperville, Ill./Central) added a 176 to place 16th and sophomore Allie Lawwill (Springboro, Ohio/Middletown) rounded things out with a 177 take 17th place.

Wittenberg will next be in action March 29-30 at Capital's Purple & White Invitational at the Westchester Golf Club in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
