McKinster, Norris post first-place finishes to lead Men's Outdoor Track and Field at Big Red Invitational

GRANVILLE — Freshman Jayden McKinster (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) and junior Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown Christian) posted first-place finishes to lead the Wittenberg men's outdoor track and field team at the Denison Big Red Invitational on Friday.

  • McKinster won the discus with a mark of 48.49 meters, and Norris won the high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters.
  • The Tigers posted four second-place finishes. Junior Dominic Cork (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge) was second in the javelin with a mark of 45.53 meters, and sophomore Jack Miller (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River) was second in the 3,000 in 9:26.84.
  • The team of sophomore Grayson Ring (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe), seniors Matt Drovdlic (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) and Matt Rogers (Leander, Texas/Rouse) and freshman Neal Godfrey (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) was second in the 4x100 relay in 43.08 seconds. The team of freshmen Ethan Davis (Wapakoneta, Ohio/Houston) and Harry Sangha (Hilliard, Ohio/Darby), sophomore Zayden Taylor (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) and senior Anthony Bland (Lawnside, N.J./Hadden Heights) placed second in the 4x400 relay in 3:35.74.
  • Ring placed third in the 100 in 11.32 seconds, Taylor was third in the 800 in 2:02.19, freshman Zeth Cowin (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.57 meters, freshman Kane Cissell (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) was third in the pole vault with a mark of 4.00 meters, and freshman Owen Bier (Elyria, Ohio/Midview) was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.59 seconds.
  • Sophomore Max Green (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) was fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.77 meters.
  • Freshman Max Martindale (Mason, Ohio/Lakota West) was fifth in the shot put with a mark of 12.62 meters, sophomore Gage Dyke (Frankfort, Ohio/Zane Trace) was fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.70 meters, and senior Chance Keller (Newark, Ohio/Heath) was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.13.
  • Godfrey placed sixth in the 100 in 11.434 seconds, Davis was sixth in the 400 in 53.75 seconds, sophomore AJ Sutherly (Marysville, Ohio/Marysville) was sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.90 meters, freshman Nicolas Farfoglia (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) was sixth in the long jump with a mark of 6.32 meters, junior Adam Arndt (Connersville, Ind./Connersville) was sixth in the 1,500 in 4:11.64, and sophomore Ben Norton (Avon, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) was sixth in the 3,000 in 9:37.82.
  • Rogers placed seventh in the 100 just behind Godfrey in 11.438 seconds. Freshman Troy Crosby (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) was seventh in the discus with a mark of 39.72 meters, junior Jack Houck (Stow, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.31 meters.
  • Martindale was eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.16 meters, and Sangha was eighth in the 400 in 54.37 seconds.
