SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg junior Conor Kolka (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Mid/Distance Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15-21.

This marks Kolka's second NCAC Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2023-24 season and seventh of his career. He earned the honor twice as a freshman, three times as a sophomore and once earlier this season on April 2.

The latest recognition comes after he won the 5,000 meters at the Duane Gomez Invitational at Kenyon on Saturday with a time of 14:45.04. That time currently ranks first in the conference and fell just short of his school-record time of 14:44.97. He is also the school record-holder in the outdoor 10,000 meters with a time of 29:42.25.

Kolka capped the 2024 indoor season with an NCAC championship in the 3,000 and an All-NCAC finish in the 5,000.

His career includes three conference titles as part of seven All-NCAC accolades. He won the conference title in the outdoor 5,000 in his freshman and sophomore seasons prior to winning the title in the indoor 3,000 earlier this year.

The Tigers return to action on Friday at the Big Red Invitational at Denison, which begins at 12:30 p.m.
