McKinster, Elliott combine for 3 first-place finishes to lead Men's Outdoor Track and Field on Day 2 of Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Freshman Jayden McKinster (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) and junior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) combined for three first-place finishes to lead the Wittenberg men's outdoor track and field team on Saturday on Day 2 of the two-day Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • McKinster posted a pair of victories. He won the discus with a mark of 46.91 meters and won the shot put with a mark of 14.35 meters. Freshman Max Martindale (Mason, Ohio/Lakota West) was second behind McKinster in the shot put with a mark of 14.09 meters. Freshman Troy Crosby (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) was fifth in the discus with a mark of 42.16 meters.
  • Elliott won the 400 meters with a time of 48.06 seconds. Senior Zeke Bennett (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) was second in 48.10 seconds.
  • Freshman Owen Bier (Elyria, Ohio/Midview) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.61 seconds. Senior Sam Callinan (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) was seventh in 1:00.45.
  • Callinan added an eighth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.56 seconds.
  • Junior Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown Christian) finished second in the high jump with a mark of 2.00 meters. Sophomore Grayson Ring (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) was eighth with a mark of 1.90 meters.
  • Senior Peter Caine (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:59.28.
  • The team of seniors JJ Weisenberger (Collins, Ohio/Western Reserve), Matt Drovdlic (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) and freshmen Neal Godfrey (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) and Caiden Allen (Ontario, Ohio/Plymouth) placed sixth in the 4x100 relay in 42.77 seconds.
