Watson places second in the pole vault to lead Men's Outdoor Track and Field on Day 1 of Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Sophomore Jeremy Watson (Sugar Grove, Ohio/Berne Union) posted a second-place finish in the pole vault to lead the Wittenberg men's outdoor track and field team on Friday on Day 1 of the two-day Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • Watson was second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.20 meters. The Tigers took three of the top six spots in the event, as freshman Kane Cissell (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) was fourth with a mark of 3.90 meters, and freshman Nicolas Farfoglia (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) was sixth with a mark of 3.75 meters.
  • The team of senior Zeke Bennett (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley), junior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) and sophomores Grayson Ring (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) and Zayden Taylor (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) finished third in the 4x400 relay in 3:17.85.
  • Senior JJ Weisenberger (Collins, Ohio/Western Reserve) placed fourth in the javelin with a mark of 47.03 meters and was seventh in the invitational long jump with a mark of 6.83 meters.
  • Sophomore Evan Haemmerle (Avon, Ohio/Avon) placed fourth in the 5,000 in 15:46.02.
  • Junior Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown Christian) was sixth in the javelin with a mark of 46.20 meters.
  • Junior Conor Kolka (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) placed eighth in the invitational mile in 4:17.43.
  • Senior Sam Callinan (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.12 meters.
