Men's Indoor Track and Field posts several solid finishes at Grand Valley State Big Meet Saturday

ALLENDALE, Mich. — The Wittenberg men's indoor track and field team posted several impressive finishes at the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Saturday.

The Basics

  • Venue: Kelly Family Sports Center - Allendale, Mich.
  • The meet was not team scored.
  • This meet is separate from Friday's GVSU Big Meet, as athletes had to hit listed standards to qualify for the Friday portion.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • Freshman Lukas Rieben (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) finished 22nd in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:44.62. This time ranks him eighth in the NCAC. 
  • Senior JJ Weisenberger (Collins, Ohio/Western Reserve) came back for Day 2 of the Big Meet to finish 33rd in the 60 meter dash in 7.13 seconds.
  • Sophomore Zayden Taylor (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) posted a new 800 meter personal record of 1:57.26. He ranks eighth in the NCAC.
  • Senior Matt Drovdlic (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) was 24th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.75 seconds.
  • Junior Bryce Ray (Sun City, Fla./Sumner) jumped 6.18 meters to earn 11th place in the long jump.
  • Freshman Kane Cissell (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) was seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 12.85 meters. Cissell also earned 11th place in the pole vault with a jump of 4.17 meters. He moves up to fifth in the NCAC for pole vault. Sophomore Jeremy Watson (Sugar Grove, Ohio/Berne Union) finished fourth in the pole vault with a jump of 4.47 meters.
  • Sophomore Grayson Ring (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) also returned for Day 2 of the meet in the high jump. Ring tied for fourth place with junior teammate Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) at 1.90 meters.
  • Sophomore Max Green (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) was 25th in the shot put with a throw of 11.45 meters. Green returned for a 22nd place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 13.82 meters.
