DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers took on the best NCAA Division III teams the state of Ohio has to offer and came up with ninth place for the men and 15th for the women in the final standings.

Host Ohio Wesleyan took the top spot in the 20-team men's competition with 158 points, followed by Ohio Athletic Conference powerhouse Mount Union with 129. The Tigers tied with Bluffton for ninth place with 31.

On the women's side, it was Mount Union staking its claim to the hardware with 147.5 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan with 122. The Tigers managed nine points.

Two individual performances proved Wittenberg's top highlights. Junior Justin Fisher (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) took first place in the triple jump with a mark of 14.16 meters, which puts him in the running for a berth in the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet in May. Senior Justin Yates (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) continued to round into the form he showed a year ago when he qualified for the national meet as he won the 400 meters with a time of 48.01 to move up the national rankings.

Other quality finishes included freshman Tyler Everidge (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook), who posted a personal-best mark in the javelin, senior Adam Kapuscinski (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore), who finished third in the 800 meters with a school-record time, and junior Laike Wallace (Washington Court House, Ohio/Washington), who scored a point in the 400-meter hurdles. In addition, junior Dan Mason (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon) recorded a personal best in the discus.

For the women, the only individuals to score points were sophomore Frankie Bowsher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) in seventh place in the 400 meters and junior Jordan Crow (North Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde) in seventh in the 400-meter hurdles. Also of note were personal-best marks by throwers Elizabeth Walton (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) and Anissa Dann (Hiram, Maine/Sacopee Valley).
