Women's Relays Provides Highlight At Denison Lid-Lifter

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Wittenberg Tigers picked up several outstanding individual performances as they continued the indoor portion of the 2014-15 season at the Denison Lid-Lifter.

In the 11-team women's competition, Wittenberg finished seventh with a score of 37 points. The Tigers finished 10th out of 12 teams on the men's side with 23 points.

The highlights of the meet were provided by a pair of women's relays. The Tigers finished first in the 4x200-meter relay as the quartet of junior Jordan Crow (North Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde), sophomore Frankie Bowsher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln), sophomore Alaina Longshore (Columbus, Ohio/Franklin Heights) and junior Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) crossed the finish line in 1:48.

Later in the meet, Crown, Bowsher, Longshore and Medlock teamed up to take the blue ribbon in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:07.

Additionally for the Tiger women, Medlock placed third in the 400 meters, Longshore took sixth in the 400 meters, Crow finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and freshman Elizabeth Walton (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) captured sixth in the weight throw.

For the men, freshman Tyler Everidge (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) made his collegiate debut a successful one as he placed second in the high jump. That finish was matched by junior Daniel Mason (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon), who took runner-up honors in the weight throw.

Rounding things out were sophomore Alex Owens (Enon, Ohio/Greenon), who finished fifth in the pole vault, and sophomore Cody Shutt (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson), who crossed the finish line in seventh place in the 400 meters.
