LINCOLN, Neb. - Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) finished 11th in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash at the 2014 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship meet, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Undefeated in the event in the 2014 season against NCAA Division III competition coming into the national championships, Banjo posted a time of 6.88, just .05 off his school-record mark established earlier in the season at the Ohio State Tune-Up. It wasn't enough against the best in the nation, however, as Banjo missed qualifying for Saturday's finals by a mere .02 in a tightly packed field.

Thurgood Dennis of Wisconsin-Eau Claire led the way in the preliminaries with a time of 6.75.

Banjo and his Tiger teammates will now turn their attention to the outdoor portion of the 2014 season, starting with a trip to Atlanta, Ga., for the Emory Invitational on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22.
