GRANVILLE, Ohio — As they have in each of the first three weeks of the 2007 indoor season, the Wittenberg Tigers competed well in several individual events but an overall lack of depth was a factor in the team's eventual finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Relays at Denison.

The Tiger men placed seventh in the 10-team final standings while the Tiger women came in sixth out of nine teams.

Each team picked up one first place finish individually. For the women, it was junior Allison Walker (Columbus, Ohio/Academy) taking the top spot in the shot put as the Tigers were the top-scoring team in that event. Walker combined with sophomore Brittany Bradford (Hebron, Ohio/Lakewood), who placed sixth in the individual standings.

For the men, the lone champion was sophomore Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day), who captured top honors in the high jump. In tandem with junior Matt Prenger (Maria Stein, Ohio/Marion Local), who finished ninth individually, the Tigers totalled the second-most points in the event.

Wittenberg also picked up second place points in the long jump as Larkin and freshman Chris Jones (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) took fourth and fifth place respectively and in the 55-meter hurdles as Jones and freshman Tim Uher (Granville, Ohio/Pickerington Central) took fourth and fifth place respectively.

Also of note was the performance of junior Nicole Bailey (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day), who placed second individually in both the long jump and triple jump.
