Laszlo and Mallette Earn GCAA All-American Honors

Springfield, Ohio-- The second, third and honorable mention Division III PING All-America Teams were announced by the GCAA on Wednesday morning. Junior Colin Laszlo and sophomore Ryan Mallette represent Wittenberg as 2018 Honorable Mention All-Americans. The Tiger's duo serve as the 34th and 35th All-Americans in Wittenberg Men's Golf history. A total of 28 golfers were named honorable mention All-America.

Laszlo, who finished ranked 38th in the country amongst all Division III individuals, recorded an adjusted scoring average of 73.7 in 24 rounds. The junior from Waipahu, Hawaii carded his best round of the year at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate with a 69, while also finishing in the top-15 in seven tournaments in 2018. Laszlo paced the Tigers to their ninth consecutive NCAC Tournament Crown after placing third in the three-round tournament with a three-day score of 221 (+5). Laszlo also earned First Team Division III PING Great Lakes All-Region Honors, First Team All-NCAC Honors, as well as a NCAC Golfer of the Week honor on April 2.

Mallette came on the scene strong in his second campaign in Springfield, as the Canton, Ohio native earned Honorable Mention All-American honors for the Tigers after averaging a 74.83 in 18 rounds. Mallette's best round came in the second round of the NCAA Championships after carding a 68. Mallette was in the hunt for individual medalist honors during the Championship, claiming seventh place amongst all competitors. Mallette also earned First-Team All-NCAC Honors in 2018.

The Tigers took eighth place at the 2018 NCAA DIII National Championship, a season after the Tigers won the program's first National Championship.
