Springfield, Ohio — The Wittenberg University men's and women's golf teams will host an event - appropriately enough, a golf outing - to raise funds for the program. The first annual Alumni, Family and Friends Fund-raising Golf Outing is scheduled for a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield. Lunch and registration begin at noon.

The event will be a four-person scramble, and it will include team awards and skills contest prizes after the round. Each team will include three members of alumni, family and friends paired with one active Tiger golf team representative. The cost of participation is $85 per person or $255 per three-person team, with $35 per person being tax deductible. In addition, hole sponsorships are available for $100.

A silent auction will take place prior to the start of the round, with bidding open until team awards are handed out at the end of the event. Among the items up for bid are rounds of golf at famed Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, and Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield Township, N.J., both of which have played host to past Professional Golf Association championship events. Contributions are still being accepted for those interested in donating gifts to be auctioned.
