Strong Day 2 Moves Tigers Up A Spot At Denison Fall Invitational

Andrew Flint

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The 2007 fall men's golf season came to an end for Wittenberg at the Denison Invitational with a seventh-place finish in a strong 10-team field.

The Tigers played six two-day tournaments in the first half of the 2007-08 campaign, and in all six Wittenberg made a substantial improvement on the second day. The Tigers' three-stroke improvement on Day 2 at Denison was actually the smallest difference of the fall season, but it was enough for Wittenberg to move up from eighth to seven place in the final standings.

Sophomore Andrew Flint (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) led the way for Wittenberg for the fourth straight tournament. He carded rounds of 74 and 76 for a 150, good for a tie for 17th place.

Junior Chad Summe (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) checked in with a 151, his second straight career-best score, which earned him a 20th-place tie. Junior Garrett Smith (Powell, Ohio/Worthington Christian) added a 153 to place 25th.

Junior Dan Buchan (Dublin, Ohio/Worthington Christian) rounded out the team's scorers as he carded a two-round total of 157.
