15th Annual Wittenberg Football Golf Outing Set For June 8

Springfield, Ohio – For the 15th consecutive year, the Wittenberg University football program will host a golf outing to raise funds for the program. This year's event is scheduled for a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Reid Park Golf Course in Springfield. Lunch and registration begin at noon.

The event is a four-person scramble, and it includes prizes, raffles, dinner and awards. Prizes will be awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin, closest to the helmet, longest putt, lowest team score and a putting contest. The cost of participation is $85.

Event sponsorships are also available. Hole sponsorships (Tiger Up Sponsors) are $100; hole sponsorship and a door prize (Red and White Sponsors) is $300; hole sponsorship, door prize and sponsor plaque (Big Cat Sponsors) is $500; and hole sponsorship, door prize, sponsor plaque and game program advertisement (Edwards/Maurer Sponsors) is $1,000. A portion of the sponsorships are tax deductible.

In addition to the golf outing, the football program is welcoming members into the Wittenberg Tiger Football Club, which works recruit new student-athletes, registers alumni to serve as mentors to current student-athletes through the innovative Tiger GAME Plan, and provides financial resources for football-related improvements, including facility upgrades, coaching positions and equipment.
