Red & White Split the Day in Conference Play

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home for day two of CWPA Regional games. The number three ranked Tigers saw Carthage and number two ranked Augustana in competition.

Game One- In game one, Wittenberg took on the Firebirds of Carthage. The Tigers were able to pick up their first win of the weekend after defeating Carthage with a score of 9-5. Wittenberg was able to put up three in the first quarter to take an early 3-1 lead. The Firebirds were able to come back in the second quarter but Wittenberg answered in the third with five goals. The Red & White added one more in the  fourth quarter to take the game 9-5. Goals were scored by Savannah Cross (5), Sierra Bui (1), Kiersten Heverly (2), and Tessa Crown (1).

Game Two- In game two of the day the Tigers saw the number two ranked Augustana. Wittenberg put up 11 goals against the Vikings but were unable to pick up another win, falling 15-11. Scoring for the Tigers was Savannah Cross (2) to bring her total on the day to seven goals. Also adding to the board were Riley Kettleson (1), Grace McLaughin (2), Sierra Bui (2), Evelyn Heil (1), and Kailey Cordova (3).

The Red & White had eight different individuals score on the day. Wittenberg was led by junior Savannah Cross on the offensive side with seven goals on the day.

Up Next- The Tigers will return to action on April 2nd to compete against Gannon and McKendree.
