Tigers Open NCAC Slate With Road Win At Hiram

Hiram, OH – The Wittenberg women's soccer team opened up North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 road win over the Terriers of Hiram College. The Tiger offense came together to get the win, peppering the Hiram goal with 20 shots on the afternoon. Wittenberg would also lead the corner kick tally on the day 9-1, getting six set pieces in the second half.

Game Breakdown

Jasmine Evans kicked off the Wittenberg scoring effort in the 7th minute of action, capitalizing off of the Kaitlyn Krieg assist. The Tigers maintained the 1-0 advantage at the break. Alix Steele posted the second Wittenberg goal, coming off of the assist from Carly Stang in the 65th minute. Stang facilitated the third and final Tiger goal-scoring opportunity just moments later, finding Brooke Peters, giving Wittenberg the 3-0 advantage. Kelly Corbin, along with the strong Wittenberg defense recorded their second consecutive shutout.

Wittenberg will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 1, hosting Franklin College in their final non-conference game of the season from Edwards-Maurer Field at 7:00 PM.
