Tigers Drop Senior Day Match-Up

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer Field to take on the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan in their final conference match-up of the year. Prior to the match-up the Red & White celebrated their senior class including Antavia Horne, Alli Ormsby, and Joanna Stecz. Wittenberg was unable to pick up a win to end their season. The Tigers fell with a final score of 16-7 to end their season with a record of 5-12.

Wittenberg was unable to get on the board in the first quarter but bounced back in the second with two goals. Getting through OWU defense was Jessica Flick unassisted and Grace Hehman from Joanna Stecz. The Tigers trailed heading into the half with a score of 12-2. Scoring in the third quarter was Antavia Horne unassisted and Mya Wolfe on a man-up opportunity to give the Red & White their fourth point of the game. Wolfe put up one more in the fourth quarter followed by Jessica Flick with two more of her own for a final score of 16-7.

Wittenberg Leaders- Wittenberg had four different individuals score, including Jessica Flick, Mya Wolfe, Antavia Horne, and Grace Hehman. Flick  led the day in goals with three for the Tigers. Cecilia Critchfield led the Tigers in ground balls, picking up four on the day while Grace Kennedy caused three turnovers from OWU. Hannah Feder led the Tigers in draw control possessions with eight. Leading in goal was Gabrielle Weckerly with seven saves after facing 18 shots on goal.

NCAC Leaders- Wittenberg has five individuals leading in the conference. Jessica Flick sits at number five for goals on the season with 50 and number seven for points with 55. Flick also stands at number two in the NCAC for free position success, going 18-40. Antavia Horne led in draw controls at number four with 66 on the season. A trio of Katie Wadds, Antavia Horne, and Grace Kennedy lead in ground balls with a combined 156 on the season, Wadds leads the pack with 63. Horne and Wadds sit in the top ten for caused turnovers with Wadds leading again with 40 on the season. For goalie statistics, Sidney Sheridan sits in the top five at number four for save percentage in the conference with 47.2%.
