Wittenberg Improves Win Streak in Ada

Ada, OH- Wittenberg hit the road for their first away match-up of the year against the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern. In their first road game, the Tigers advanced to a winning record and three game win streak after defeating the Polar Bears 7-6.

The Red & White were able to beat Ohio Northern's defense in each quarter but dominated in the third quarter with four goals and shutting out the Polar Bears. Ohio Northern was able to get on the board first but Grace Kennedy answered back with Wittenberg's first goal at the 4:09 mark in the first quarter. A low scoring first quarter sent the Tigers into the second quarter down 3-1. Jessica Flick was able to hit the back of the net in the second quarter for Wittenberg's only goal of the quarter. Ohio Northern was able to add two more to their total and take the lead heading into the half. The Tigers were able to bounce back in the third quarter and dominate offensively with four goals while shutting down Ohio Northern. Goals in the third were scored by Katie Wadds, Jessica Flick with two, and Cecilia Critchfield. In goal for the Tigers was Sidney Sheridan who faced four shots in the third quarter, saving all four to take Wittenberg into the final quarter with a one goal advantage. Ohio Northern was able to tie the game 6-6 to start the fourth but before they thought about going into overtime, Jessica Flick tallied the final goal of the game with just over four minutes to play. Both teams would spend the remaining minutes in the fourth going back and forth trying to add to the board but ended with Wittenberg taking a 7-6 win.

Wittenberg Leaders- The Tigers had four different individuals score, being led by Jessica Flick with four goals. Katie Wadds led the Red & White defensively with five caused turnovers and three ground balls on the day.
