Head Coach Williams-Jeter Steps Down

Springfield, OH – After one season at the helm, Tamika Williams-Jeter will step down as head coach of the Wittenberg Women's Basketball program. Coach Williams-Jeter has accepted the position at NCAA Division I University of Dayton, where she will lead the Flyers women's basketball program.

"All of us at Wittenberg would like to thank Tamika on her coaching efforts with our Womens Basketball program and her great influence on our entire University," said Vice President & Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Agler '80, "She has positioned us well for the future.  We wish her and her family the best!" 

This past season, Williams-Jeter led the Tigers to an 18-8 overall record, including 10-4 in North Coast Athletic Conference action. Along the way, the Tigers captured their ninth NCAC Tournament title, the Tigers edged out tournament top seed DePauw 55-52 in the semifinal round before moving on to take down Ohio Wesleyan, 64-58 in the championship game.

Wittenberg made their first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance since 2015 at the Hope College Regional, were they took on Marietta College. The Tigers fell to the Pioneers in the opening round of play from Holland, Mich., 65-50.

Williams-Jeter stepped into the head role of the Tiger program in April of 2021. Since 2015, Wittenberg has had five former head coaches move-on to accept NCAA Division I head coaching jobs.
