Malone Drops Twenty Against Scots

Wooster, OH- Wittenberg hit the road for their 12th conference match-up of the season. The Tigers travelled to Wooster where they saw the Scots for the second time this season. The first time Wittenberg saw Wooster in action this season, they were able to easily defeat them with a score of 84-46. In similar fashion, the Red & White were able to leave Wooster behind 94-50 for a five-game win streak.

The Tigers were led by Taryn Cash, Delaney Williams, Abigail Yunker, Kristie Kalis, Jade Simpson on the court as Wittenberg's starting five. The starting line-up accumulated a total of 61 points, 20 rebounds, and an overall shooting percentage of 66.6%.

While the starting line-up was able to accumulate a third of the points for Wittenberg, freshman Jaida Malone stole the show with 20 points on the night to bring her season total to 81. As a team the Tigers went 37-64 from the field, 5-13 in three-points, and 15-21 from the line. The Red & White dominated in rebounds with 41 and 32 points coming from Wooster turnovers.

The Tigers led from the start with 25 points in the first quarter with Malone leading the way with 12 points. The second quarter was no different for Wittenberg who put up another 25 points, this time being led by Kalis and Williams with seven points each. The Tigers went into the half with a 50-26 lead and came out with the same momentum. Wittenberg went on to drop 20 points in the third quarter and 24 in the fourth.

Wittenberg Leaders- The Tigers had 10 different individuals score, being led by Jaida Malone with 20 points, going 8-12 from the field, 1-2 in three's and 3-3 from the line. Defensively, Kristie Kalis led the way with 10 rebounds.

NCAC Leaders- Five Tigers continue to sit in the top ten in the NCAC for statistics. Kristie Kalis sits at number nine in the conference for points this season with 265 after today's match-up. Jade Simpson leads the Tigers at number seven in the NCAC for field goal percentage at 48%. Kalis continues to lead the way in three points made at number four with 41 shots being made while Yunker sits just outside at number 12 with 24. Yunker comes in at number three in the conference for three-point percentage with an average of 42.1%. Just behind in three-point percentage is Kelsey Ragan at number nine with a 34.0% average. Going 44-53, Yunker lands at number two for field goal percentage with an 83.0% success rate. On the ball control side, Jade Simpson lands at number four in the conference for rebounds with 178; 116 being defensive and 62 being offensive. Delaney Williams sits at number three for assists on the season with 85 and number seven in steals with 38 on the season.
