Tigers Stumble Against No. 4 DePauw

Greencastle, IN- The Tigers were on the road to take on the DePauw Tigers. The 13-5 Wittenberg team had a tough battle ahead of them with DePauw being ranked number four in the nation. After fighting for four quarters the Tigers fell to the No. 4 DePauw team 57-45.

Game Breakdown: Starting off with a 3-pointer from Delaney Williams, the Red and White fought with DePauw to maintain a lead. The Tigers were able to out-score the DePauw Tigers 13-12 in the first quarter with Williams leading the way. Williams put up five of the Tigers thirteen points and Wittenberg was able to shake DePauw up to add six turnovers to the hosts stats.

The biggest Wittenberg lead would happen in the second quarter and put the Tigers ahead by six points with 3:54 remaining. The Tigers put up another thirteen points and had a FG% of 50% and 3PT% of 75%. Wittenberg was led by Kristie Kalis who put up five of Wittenberg's thirteen points. After a last-minute three-pointer from DePauw, the Red and White went into the locker room down by one with a score of 26-27.

Coming out of the locker-room would-be Wittenberg's biggest battle with a stable DePauw team who would end up putting up an even fifteen points for the third and fourth quarter. Wittenberg would be put on the line twice and hit all four shots to add to their ten -point total for the third quarter. The Tigers stuck in it with the No. 4 DePauw team but after two more tough quarters, fell with a score of 57-45.

Wittenberg shot for 62.5% on FT% and 36.0% on FG% while picking up 28 rebounds and nine assists.

NCAC Leaders: Korynne Berner is currently number one in the NCAC for FG% with a solid 50.8%. Riley Culver follows Berner with a fourth-place ranking and a FG% of 48.9%. The pair are tied for ninth in total rebounds on the season, both picking up 118. Williams is ranked number three in the NCAC for steals, averaging 2.4 per game and 44 on the season. Williams also leads the NCAC in assists in fifth with 3.2 per game.
