Tigers Open Season With Win Over Roanoke

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Volleyball team opened the 2023 season with a win, 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20), over the Maroons from Roanoke College. The Tigers dominated the attack in three of the four sets, putting together a .194 hitting-percentage on the night as a unit. Michael Yurk led the attack with 12 kills on 39 attacks with seven errors. Yurk added one block assist and one ace, with six digs to his line.

Trajan Kress tallied a team-high hitting percentage at .368, putting down 9 kills on 19 attacks with just two errors. Andrew Diaz de Padilla recorded 30 of the Tiger's 33 assists, while adding six digs. Tom Supan put down five service aces, to go along with seven kills and three block assists.
