Tiger Teams Take 2nd & 3rd At Huntsman Family Invitational

This week the Tigers Track and Field teams travelled to Crawfordsville, Indiana for the Huntsman Family Invitational, hosted by Wabash College. Overall, both teams were able to place very well with the men's team finishing third, and the women's team was second.

The women were able to take three first places finishes. The first came in the 3,000-meter steeplechase from senior Emma Scritchfield in a time of 12:27.87. Then freshmen Meghan Keys was able to take the title in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:01.20. Also, in the 1,500 sophomore Sydney Khosla finished third in 5:10.08. Next two Tigers were able to finish in the top three for the 400-meter dash. Freshmen Kyngston Collins was second with a time of 1:01.59, and Meghan Frazier was third in 1:02.75. To wrap up the running events the 4x100-meter relay team of Zora Shakhan, Reese Neumeyer, Haleigh Willison, and Frazier finished second in a time of 50.78 seconds. Moving onto field events, freshmen, Taylor Weiss captured second place in the high jump at 1.50 meters. Reese Neumeyer started her day off in pole vault where she was able to also take second at a height of 2.85 meters. The third and final first place finish for women came from junior, Kara Owens who captured the title in triple jump with a jump of 9.02 meters. Owens was also able to take third in long jump at 4.48 meters, earning a total of 16 points for the day. Lastly, from freshmen Mckenna Bruce was able to finish second in the women's hammer throw with a throw of 36.47 meters.

For the men freshmen Dustin Franks started the day off with a second-place finish in the high jump at 1.80 meters. In long jump freshmen, Jack Houck took the win with a jump of 6.56 meters, and teammate JJ Weisenberger took third with 6.30 meters. In the running events senior, Cullen Sainey finished third in the men's 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:06.39. In the 800 meter run senior Deven Ramsey took home the first place finish at 1:58.24, and junior Dak Smith was second with a time of 1:59.71. Senior Garrin Bachinski, was able to finish the day off with a second place finish in 58.33 seconds, for the men's 400 meter hurdles.

Next week the Tiger's are travelling to the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on April 16th.
