Burgess Completes Scottish Football Association Licensure Course

Wittenberg University Head Men's Soccer Coach Dwight Burgess has successfully completed the Scottish Football Association (SFA) C License course, held December 2-7, on the Oriam campus, Scotland's Sports Performance Centre and home to Scotland's National Teams, in Edinburgh.

Distributed over 30-hours the curriculum focused on three components: conducting a training session, shaping a team & individual program element; and was administered via both classroom and on-field sessions, culminating in 9 hours of assessment (practical and theory).

To keep his SFA C License active, Dwight is required to accrue SFA Continuous Coach Development credits every three years and is now qualified to attend the coveted UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) B License course.

Burgess was one of 22 candidates from the United States accepted into this pilot program. "Our Education Department is delighted and honored to partner with the Scottish Football Association and Generation Adidas International to give our members some very special access to UEFA coach education programming," said Ian Barker, USC Director of Coaching Education.
