Tigers Drop Season Opener To Wheaton

Wheaton, IL – The Wittenberg men's soccer team kicked off their 2019 campaign from the Bob Baptista Invitational hosted by Wheaton College. The Tigers fell in the season opener to the Thunder by a final of 5-0.

The Thunder opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the action, before extending their lead just seven minutes later. Wheaton held a 3-0 advantage at the break, before adding two more goals by the time the final whistle blew. Wittenberg tallied four shots on the night with Eli Esterline, Jacob Snowden, Alex Zysik and Niki Christow each taking their shots at the Wheaton net. Jason Bowen got the start in the net for the Red and White, with Cooper Robertson coming in at the half.
