Tigers Drop Non-Conference Match-Up

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer Field for their second game of the 2022 season against the Maroons of Roanoke. The Tigers who were coming off of a 5-2 loss to Rhodes looked to bring in their first win of the season but were unable to with a 1-0 defeat.

Roanoke controlled the offense with 15 penalty corners on the day, giving the Red & White defense plenty of action. In her first start of the season, sophomore goalkeeper, Caitlin Archdeacon saw 14 shots on goal with an outstanding performance of 13 saves, she was able to stay calm under pressure and keep the Tigers within one. Tiger offense was able to get three shots off with attempts from Emily Owens, Caroline Cairns, and Lucy Ripepi.

Leaders: The Tigers were led by sophomore goalkeeper, Caitlin Archdeacon with 13 saves on the day after facing 14 shots.
