Tiger Offense Dominates at Home

Springfield, OH- A 21-point first-quarter and 28-point second quarter fueled Wittenberg football to a 62-7 win over the Oberlin College Yeomen. The Tigers racked up 563 yards of offense, 191 of those coming from in the air and 372 on the ground rushing.

Wittenberg got off to a running start with a 58-yard run from Reed Hall in the first drive of the game. The first quarter saw another pair of touchdowns from Tyler May and Garrett Gross to give the Tigers a 21-0 lead heading into the second quarter. Gross and Hall both tabbed a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter along with Bryce Anderson and Mario Getaw to advance to a 49-0 lead before the half. The second quarter totaled 208 yards from the scoring plays.

Drew Sterett drove 62 yards up field for a touchdown in the third quarter from Miles Johnson to take a 55-7 lead. The Tigers final play of the game came from Ashton Snell on a 55-yard drive into the endzone for a final score of 62-7. The Red & White went 8-9 on field goals with Brandon Goodwin leading the way, going 4-4.

Dane Flatter led the defense with seven solo tackles. Luke Jackson, Tony Calovini, Nathan Pratt, and Cole Becker added four takedowns each.

Wittenberg will return to action next Saturday, October 22, hosting Denison University. Kickoff is set for 12:00 pm on Edwards-Mauer Field.
