For four days, Wittenberg University will provide you with cutting-edge leadership development skills to take your efforts in bold, new directions. Courses, workshops, and hands-on experiences will help you learn how to lead with confidence, understand the role of servant leadership, and develop the critical expertise necessary for success while delving deeper into two major topic areas including Launching Your Passion/Start-ups and Social Justice and Inclusion.

Many of these skills are developed through leadership labs and workshops with University leaders and students.  For those that are more hands-on learners, there are also many team building activities to help apply leadership competencies.  Although much of your time throughout the day will be spent focused on hands-on learning, there is time for you to connect with fellow campers from across the country and make friends that will last a lifetime!

Each day, participants will spend time learning the ins-and-outs of college admission processes as well as tools for writing admission essays and conveying leadership opportunities as a way to stand out during admission and scholarship decisions--including Wittenberg's competitive Student Leader Fellows scholarship program.  Not only will you learn vital leadership skills, you will have the opportunity to meet a few of the many outstanding faculty and staff and bond with potential classmates as you enhance your leadership experience.

High school juniors, we want to illuminate your future career options, develop leadership skills, and provide you a college life experience. Explore your future with us from Sunday, June 24 through Wednesday, June 27. We will build bridges and connection for you to student, faculty, and staff mentors through leadership skills develop and help you leave with plan for you future. Our University Admissions staff will help you cultivate life experiences and stories to your passion for attending college; Wittenberg will activate your ability to lead with purpose.

Each participant will stay in a University residence hall, engage and build relationships with our Activate Student Mentors, and experience the liveliness of a college community. Participants will be able to major in one of two focused tracks; these areas will serve as a catalyst to developing your purpose and promote confidence in college readiness.

You will learn to:

• Identify your own leadership style.
• Manage controversy with civility.
• Understand servant leadership.
• Integrate mission, purpose, and civic responsibility into
  your efforts.
• Lead your groups through strategic goal-setting and
  planning exercises.
• Find mentors and networks.

These focus areas will be emphasized in a group format as we delve into two focused topics of Social Justice and Inclusion as well as Launching your Passion and Start Ups.

Social Justice & Inclusion

You will empowered to “find your voice” through engagement in conversations around important issues, community activism, social justice, speechwriting, and public service. This track will enhance application of leadership skills to inclusion and diversity focused practices. We will discuss a variety of career leadership opportunities and expose you to various areas in which social injustices are perpetuated. You will leave an informed and involved rising senior who will be challenge to think their social change in your community and future collegiate experience.

Launching Your Passion & Start Ups

Society is continually encouraging individuals who are clear-minded business leaders with the passion and ability to solve problems in society. We will immerse students in a start-up culture focused on highly innovative practices and the idea and concepts of entrepreneurial learning. We will connect you to industry leaders and change-oriented individuals who pursued their passions pre-college, in college, and post-college. This track will inspire and instill creativity to discover how your passions can lead to extraordinary social change.

Upon finishing the program, you will receive a Wittenberg Certificate of Completion. The University will also work to publicize your efforts at your school and in your hometown news outlets.

Scholarship Opportunities

This program will allow participants to be highly competitive for many Wittenberg scholarships including the special interest Leadership Award.
