Tigers Make Strides in Louisville

Louisville, KY- The Wittenberg Tigers spent their weekend in Louisville, Kentucky running in the 'Live In Lou Cross Country Classic' hosted by the Louisville Sports Commision. The men placed 26th out of 42 teams with Freshmen, Conor Kolka, placing 80th with an overall time of 26:07.05. Kolka continues to lead the Tigers in their races with hopes of positive outcomes at the NCAC conference meet in the coming weeks. Following close behind Kolka, was senior Cullen Sainey who ran a time of 26:22.01, placing 91st overall and a personal best, cutting 40 seconds off his time. 

For the women, sophomore Corin Turkovich, ran a time of 23:45.04, placing 56th to take the Tigers top spot. Turkovich has been a key member of the Tigers women's team as they continue to make strides in their season. Placing second for the Tigers was freshmen, Megan KeysKeys placed 89th with a time of 24:23.05 and was able to step up and help the Tigers get an overall team place of 18 out of 37 teams. 

The Wittenberg Tigers spirits remain high and dialed in as they continue improving on the course. You can catch the Tigers race at Wilmington College for the Jenna Strong Fall Classic on October 15th.
