Tigers Take Top Spot From Wilmington Invitational

Wilmington, OH - The Tigers set the tone for this season at the Wilmington Open. The women brought home a first-place finish after a lightning delay pushed back the start of the Tiger's 2019 campaign.

The women's team was lead by Alexis Gray with a time in the 2K of 12:39.5, Lauren Welker followed with a time of 12:51.3, Elizabeth Canright (12:55.0), Erika Bournival (13:03.5), Annalee Lynn, (13:14.6), Caroline Arndt (13:15.6), and Morgan Ely (13:39.2) all lead the Tigers to the top overall spot amongst the field of five teams. This is the first win as a group since 2016 at the Wittenberg Invitational.

The men's team placed 4th in the field of seven in the 5K race, as the Red and White was led by Ryan Zimmerman (17:06.3), followed closely by Cullen Sainey (17:07.1), Andrew Reese (17:35.0), and Devin Ramsey (17:54.4).

Head Coach, Paris Hilliard said "I thought today was a solid start to our new season. Our women ran a complete race and were able to start the year off with a big win! The men put forward a good effort today. We look forward to building off of today's performances for both programs."

Both programs will travel to Delaware, OH to compete in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on September 14.
