Tigers Run Well At All-Ohio Invitational

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Wittenberg competed against the best NCAA Division III teams in the state at the annual All-Ohio Invitational on Cedarville's Elvin King Course, with the Tiger men placing 10th out of 19 teams and the Tiger women finishing 15th out of 18.

Ohio Northern led the way for the men, followed by John Carroll and Mount Union. Ohio Wesleyan was the top finisher amongst the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) men's teams as the Battling Bishops took fifth. Otterbein won the women's competition, followed by Mount Union and Ohio Wesleyan.

Individually, junior Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy) was Wittenberg's top finisher, checking in 30th out of 279 runners in the field. Osman posted a time in the 8K of 26:24.

Senior Courtland Johnson (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County) was next for the Tigers in 67th place with a time of 27:13. He was followed closely by freshman Alex Quillin (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) in 68th in 27:14.

Rounding out the men's scorers were freshman Charles Rodeheffer (Delaware, Ohio/Olentangy) in 91st in a time of 27:36 and junior Ethan Raines (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) in 157th in a time of 28:34.

For the Tiger women, junior Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) showed the way in a time of 24:12 to finish 64th. Junior Hannah Meier (North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) was next in 100th place in a time of 24:57 on the 6K course.

Wittenberg's other women's scorers were senior Megan Bittinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) in 129th place in 25:20, senior Megan Heitkemper (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) in 149th place in 25:51, and sophomore MacKenzie Freeman (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) checked in 156th in 25:56.
