Erin Hord Posts Top-20 Finish To Lead Tigers At Pre-Regional Meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Wittenberg Tigers got a close-up look at Rose-Hulman's LaVern Gibson Course that will host the 2015 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship in November, with both the men's and women's teams placing sixth in an eight-team field.

Lansing Community College set the pace for the 6k women's course, finishing the race with a team-average time of 23:53. The Tigers weren't far off the winning pace, with their top five finishers posting an average finishing time of 25:49.

Leading the Tigers across the line was junior Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison), who finished 19th with a time of 24:53. The next two Tigers to finish were within 10 seconds of each other as junior Hannah Meier (North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) stopped her clock at 25:47 to finish 30th, just before senior Lorin Conti (Milford,Ohio/Milford) at 25:55 and in 33rd place.

Rounding out the top five for Wittenberg were sophomore MacKenzie Freeman (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) in a time of 26:03 to finish 38th and senior Megan Bittinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) in 26:29 to finish 42nd.

The Tigers will run next on Friday, Oct. 2, in the annual All-Ohio Invitational at Cedarville's Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
