Tigers Get First Look At NCAC Championship Course

GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers posted matching sixth-place finishes in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Preview, hosted by Kenyon. The invitational included seven teams competing on the course that will be the site of the league's championship meet later in the season.

Oberlin finished first in the men's race with a mere 23 points, as the Yeomen claimed five of the top spots individually. Ohio Athletic Conference powerhouse Mount Union paced the women's competition with 51 points.

Individually, the men's leader for Wittenberg was junior Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy), who recorded a time of 16:22 to finish ninth. Freshman Alex Quillin (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) was next in 16:44 to finish 20th and freshman Charles Rodeheffer (Delaware, Ohio/Oletangy) rounded out the Tigers' top three with a time of 16:51 to place 23rd.

Rounding out the men's scorers were senior Courtland Johnson (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County) in 40th place with a time of 17:19 and junior Ethan Raines (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) in 60th with a time of 17:43.

On the women's side, senior Lorin Conti (Milford, Ohio/Milford) led the way for Wittenberg with a time of 20:15 to finish 15th. Junior Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) was seven seconds behind to finish 19th.

Also scoring for Wittenberg were senior Megan Heitkemper (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) in 42nd place in a time of 21:09, junior Hannah Meier (North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) in 46th in 21:16, and senior Megan Bittinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) in 54th in 21:38.
