Tigers Wrap Up 2014 Campaign At NCAA Great Lakes Regional

MASON, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers put the finishing touches on the 2014 cross country season at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Wilmington College in Mason, Ohio.

The Tiger men placed 24th in the 37-team field, while the Tiger women finished 33rd out of 35 teams. Wabash took the top spot on the men's side, while Calvin was the winner of the women's competition.

Sophomore Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy) led the Tigers once again, crossing the finish line in a time of 25:32 to finish 55th in the 245-runner field. He was followed by senior Adam Kapuscinski (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) in 128th place in a time of 26:37.

Rounding out Wittenberg's men's finishes, senior Andrew Ziminski (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) placed 165th in a time of 27:22, sophomore Ethan Raines (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) took 172nd in a time of 27:31 and junior Courtland Johnson (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County) capped the scoring in 183rd place with a time of 27:48.

For the Tiger women, sophomore Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) led the pack with a time of 24:36 on the 6K course, good for 140th place out of 247 runners. She was followed by sophomore Kalie McDorman (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) in 187th with a time of 26:01, junior Megan Heitkemper (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) in 197th in 26:19, junior Megan Bittinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) in 198th in 26:20 and sophomore Korie Sharrar (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) in 202nd in 26:30.
