#JennaStrong Classic Provides Opportunity For Tune-Up

WILMINGTON, Ohio  - The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country teams ran a final tune-up meet ahead of the conference championships with a trip to Wilmington College for the #JennaStrong Classic.

The men finished 31st of 43 teams while the women were 33rd of 38.

Leading the way for the Tiger men was sophomore Kevin Stewart (Springfield, Ohio/Emmanuel Christian), who finished 209th in a field of 373 runners, followed by was junior Ryan Mumma (Mason, Ohio/Mason) in 279th.

Freshman Stephanie Atkinson (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) was the first across the finish line for the women, wrapping up the 6K course in 21:19.23. Next to finish was sophomore Kalie McDorman (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge), who finished 219th, followed by junior Megan Bittinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) in 241st in the 413-strong field.

The #JennaStrong Classic includes teams from throughout Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, and across the divisions of the NCAA. Division II Ashland University won both the men's and women's events.

The Tigers now prepare for the North Coast Athletic Conference championships hosted by Denison University at Infirmary Mount Park in Granville, Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 1, which will begin with the men's 8K championship race at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 6K championship race at Noon, concluded with the awards ceremony at 1 p.m.
