Tiger Teams Round Out 2013 Season At Great Lakes Regional Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Wittenberg University's men's and women's cross country teams finished off the 2013 season with a pair of solid performances at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional championship meet, hosted by Calvin College.

On the men's side, Wittenberg finished 19th out of 35 complete teams in the meet, in addition to four teams that had runners entered as individuals. A total of 33 teams were entered in the women's competition, with Wittenberg placing 25th. Six other teams had women's runners entered as individuals.

Among the men, Wittenberg was paced by freshman Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy), who covered the 8K course in 26:42 to place 70th out of 252 runners in the race. He was followed by senior Jacob Kuntz (Versailles, Ky./Woodford) in 102nd in a time of 27:11.

Rounding out the men's scorers were freshman Nick Molnar (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) in 105th in a time of 27:12, senior Wade Westbrook (Columbus, Ohio/Whetstone) in 133rd in a time of 27:33 and junior Adam Kapuscinski (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) in 177th in a time of 28:31.

The leading lady for the Tigers was senior Shannon Kelleher (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson), who capped her fine collegiate career with a 99th place finish in a time of 24:07 on the 6K course. She was followed by another senior as Maggie McIlvain (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) in 144th out of 244 runners entered in the meet in a time of 25:07.

The Tigers' other three point-scorers in the meet were freshman Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) in 177th in a time of 25:44, junior Deanna Iwanyckyj (Water Mill, N.Y./Southampton) in 180th in a time of 25:49, and freshman Kalie McDorman (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) in 187th in a time of 26:00.
