Tigers Finish Eighth, Ninth At NCAC Championship Meet

MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country teams placed ninth and eighth respectively at the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship meet, hosted by Allegheny College.

Oberlin continued to dominate the annual women's competition, claiming a fifth straight league title. Wabash took first place in the men's race.

Wittenberg's top individual finisher was freshman Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy), who crossed the finish line of the 8K men's race in a time of 28:14 to finish 21st in the 113-runner field. He was followed closely by freshman Nick Molnar (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) in 31st with a time of 28:34.

Rounding out Wittenberg's point scorers in the meet were senior Jacob Kuntz (Versailles, Ky./Woodford) in 42nd place in a time of 29:00, junior Adam Kapuscinski (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) in 63rd place in 29:39, and senior Wade Westbrook (Columbus, Ohio/Whetstone) in 66th place in 29:43.

On the women's side, the lead Tiger was senior Shannon Kelleher (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) in 35th place in a time of 25:03. She was followed by senior Maggie McIlvain (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool), who covered the 6K course in 26:07 to place 52nd.

Also scoring for the Tiger women were freshman Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) in 67th in 26:49, sophomore Sarah Ellis (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) in 71st in 27:02 and freshman Kalie McDorman (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) in 73rd in 27:08.
