Pfeifer Leads Tigers With Sixth-Place Finish At NCAC Championships

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country teams took part in the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet Saturday at Wabash College. The men finished in sixth place among a field of nine, while the women turned in a seventh-place finish.

The Tiger women were championed by the all-conference sixth-place finish of junior Mary Pfeifer (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman). She crossed the line with a time of 23:23.4 on the 6-kilometer.

Freshman Shannon Kelleher (Hilliard, Ohio/Darby) came next in 30th-place with a time of 24:27.2, followed by junior Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) in 32nd with a time of 24:40.6.

Men's senior Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview) paced his team in 20th on a time of 27:02.1 on the 8-kilometer course. Sophomore Trevor Grandy (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) was close behind, finishing only three seconds after Frick in 22nd place.

Junior Jarrett Cowgill (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) turned a 34th-place finish on a time of 27:46.6, just head of freshman Jacob Kuntz (Versailles, Ky./Woodford) in 35th.

Up next for the Tigers are the Great Lakes Regional Championships, hosted this year in Holland, Mich., by Hope College, on Saturday, Nov. 13.
