Tiger XC Teams Preview Regional Course

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - In a look ahead towards the regional meet in mid-November, the Tiger men's and women's cross country teams took to the Otterbein course against some of the other top teams in the region, with the men taking 14th and the women finishing 8th. 

The men's side saw an outstanding individual performance come from sophomore Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview), where he took 60th overall in the very deep field, covering the 8,000 meter course in 26:34. He was the second Tiger to finish on the men's side, trailing only senior Gabe Savage (Lewisburg, Ohio/Tri-County North) who placed 48th in 26:20. Sophomore Daniel Whonsetler (Prospect, Ky./Sacred Heart) also took home a strong race, with a 127th place finish and a time of 27:42.

On the women's side, freshman Mary Pfeifer (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) took 36th overall; one of three Tigers to finish in the top 40 on the 6,000 meter course. Pfeifer finished in 23:38. Standout Darcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven)continues what has been a tremendous freshman campaign, taking ninth in the field with a time of 22:46. Freshman Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston)took home a time of 23:19 and a 21st place finish overall.

The Tiger harriers will take a weekend off before getting ready for the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, coming up on Friday, October 10th.
