Wittenberg Teams Compete Well at University of Dayton's Meijer Flyer 5K

DAYTON, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country ran well at the Meijer Flyer 5K, sponsored by the University of Dayton, taking third place in the College Division of both the men's and women's races.

 

Wittenberg managed two top-70 finishes overall, those coming from freshman Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview), who placed 56th in the men's race and junior Katie McIlvain (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool), who finished 68th in the women's competition.

Overall, Wittenberg totaled 83 points for the women and 77 for the men. An extremely competitive field in the race included Northern Kentucky University (first in men's race, second in women's), Ohio Wesleyan University, picked to finish third in the North Coast Athletic Conference (second in men's, first in women's) and Rio Grande University (fourth in both men's and women's).
