Tiger Teams Compete Well In Tough Cedarville Invitational

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Megan Poling (Medina, Ohio/Highland)provided the highlight of the day Saturday at the Cedarville Cross Country Invitational. Her finish at 50th among a field of 177 runners placed her as top finisher for the Tigers, and helped lead them to a strong eighth place finish in a competitive 18 team field.

Gabe Savage (Lewisburg, Ohio/Tri-County North) sat atop the Tiger men's leaderboard, with an impressive 30th place finish out of 180 competitors, on the way to a team finish of seventh. This comes after his leading finish among Wittenberg runners last week in the Wittenberg Invitational.

Freshman Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview) continued to show some mettle in his first year on the team, finishing shortly behind Savage at 38th. SeniorMike Echols (Springfield, Ohio/North) and freshman Andrew Carter (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) were close behind at 42nd and 44th respectively.

Junior Erin Hedrick (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) placed 63rd to finish second in the Tiger women's lineup, followed closely by freshman Margaret Nevin (Darien, Conn./Darien) in 68th.

Senior Alissa Goble (Sunfield, Mich./Lakewood) finished fourth for the Tiger ladies at 71st overall.

The men's and women's teams will now prepare for next week's trip to the Otterbein Invitational, at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.
