Wittenberg downs Carthage in Illinois

Rock Island, Ill- Wittenberg was back in action today against the Kangaroos of Austin College and Firebirds of Carthage College. The Tigers split the day with a 10-2 loss to Austin and defeating Carthage 10-4. Wittenberg now stands 5-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Leading the Tigers in game one was Kailey Cordova with two goals, hitting the back of the net in the first and second quarter. Jordan Brough had 12 saves for a .545 save percentage and seven steals.

In game two of the day the Tigers came back with a 10-4 win being led by Grace McLaughlin with three goals. Wittenberg had their highest scoring periods in the first and fourth quarter with four goals in each period. Scoring for the Tigers were Bianca Gallegos (2), Savannah Cross, Meghan Lythgoe, Evelyn Heil (2), and Cordova. Leah Green was in the net for Wittenberg with 12 saves and a .750 save percentage.
