Three Tigers Earn CWPA Athlete Of The Week Accolades

Sierra Bui (Fr., Portland, Ore./David Douglas) contributed three goals, four steals and four kickouts drawn during an 0-2 season-opening weekend at home for Wittenberg University to earn recognition as the February 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Rookie of the Week.

Grace McLaughlin (So., Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) netted five goals, two steals and six kickouts drawn in season-opening games at home versus Mount St. Mary's University and Mercyhurst University on Saturday, February 5, to claim status as the February 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week.

She notched a goal in an 18-7 loss to Mount St. Mary's prior to putting away four shots in a 12-8 loss to Mercyhurst.

The award marks the sixth weekly honor for McLaughlin as she garnered March 15, March 22, March 29 and April 19 Rookie along with March 22 Player of the Week status during the 2021 season.

Wittenberg University's Jordan Brough (So., North Palm Beach, Fla./Suncoast) made 11 saves with three steals as the Tigers opened the season at home versus Mount St. Mary's University and Mercyhurst University.  For her efforts, Brough is named the February 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
