Water Polo Senior Spotlight

Water Polo Senior Spotlight

Wittenberg University Athletics is celebrating the Senior classes from each of the spring sports that missed out on their Senior Day experience, over the next few weeks. Today we highlight Savannah Phillips of the women's water polo team and hear about what she loves most about being a Wittenberg Tiger and more.

Name: Savanah Phillips

Hometown: San Diego, California

What is your favorite/best memory as a student-athlete at Wittenberg?

My favorite memories would be getting pumped before each game.

What do you love most about being a Wittenberg Tiger?

I love how much the school supports us. Especially because not a lot of people know what water polo is about, so it's always fun explaining the game and getting more people to come out and watch!

Outside of Athletics, who is the one campus staff or faculty member that had the most impact on you during your time at Wittenberg?

Professor Parsons! She was able to help me get my academic stuff in order so I could be on track to graduate. She also made learning so much fun by being interactive in every class.

What is one piece of advice you would like to leave for the underclassmen or any recruits looking to become a part of your team in the future?

Make sure you get involved! If you have any questions, ask! There is always someone willing to help if needed.

Why should a High School Prospect choose Wittenberg?

Because at Wittenberg, we are a family. Especially for those coming from different states, Wittenberg will be your home away from home.
