Joe Ross

Joe Ross joined the coaching staff for Wittenberg women's volleyball in the spring of 2018 after coaching both men's and women's programs at the high school level since 2002.

After being a four-year starter on the pin at Hilliard Darby High School, Ross immediately began coaching for the men’s program at his alma mater.  Between 2002 and 2015, he spent time coaching all levels of the program.  While on staff, the Panthers were 240 and 99.  In addition to 11 conference titles, the Panthers also captured the 2013 and 2015 Ohio Boys State Championships.

In 2014, Ross took the position as the head coach for the women's program at Hilliard Darby.  In his four seasons before coming to Wittenberg, the ladies program made great improvement highlighted by their 2016 season where they went 21 and 4 and captured their first conference championship in 17 years.  

During his time at Darby, he coached athletes that would go on to play at all levels of college volleyball, including 4 that have gone on to compete as members of Wittenberg's volleyball programs.

Ross earned his bachelor's degree in English from Ohio State in 2005 and his master's in secondary education in 2006.  Currently, he teaches English at Hilliard Heritage Middle School.  He resides in Hilliard with his wife Lisa and their two children.
