Wittenberg Volleyball Drops Fall Classic Opener Against No. 15 MSJ

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg women's volleyball team dropped a four-set battle to the No. 15 Lions from Mount. St. Joseph (23-25, 23-25, 25-22, 24-26). Wittenberg went back-and-forth with the Lions, trading points with MSJ. Outhitting the Lions .139 to .137 on the night, Wittenberg posted 55 kills to the Lions 45. In the close match between the nearby schools, the scoreboard saw 23 total tie scores and 12 lead changes over the course of the match.

Alana Bartulovic and Tyler Linkhart finished as the long Tigers to tally double-digit kills on the night, with Bartulovic recording a team-high 15 and Linkhart adding 14. Linkhart was the main attacking point for the Tigers in the first set, putting down five kills on 11 swings. Wittenberg would spread the wealth in the second set, as five different Tigers finished with two kills each with Kait Colahan leading the way with three.

Kait Colahan recorded a team-high .263 attacking percentage, putting down eight kills on 19 swings.

Mack Ricketts tallied 41 of the Tigers 50 assists on the night, adding two kills on four attempts. Ally White recorded 26 digs, adding five assists with an ace to her stat line.
